American Idle
The writer’s strike has me reading a lot more, I think I’ve read 6 or 7 books since it started.
Reruns of M*A*S*H are about the only thing I’ve been watching; occasionally I’ll watch the news but it’s easy to get ‘news overload’ these days.
Has the strike affected anyone else’s entertainment choices?

It hasn’t affected me at all, because I watch so little TV, and what I do watch is mostly news and news programming. I don’t watch a steady diet of it, though. As you said, it’s easy to become burned out by too much depressing news!
I wonder if the libraries are seeing an upsurge in books and movies being checked out?

Check out Ghost Hunters on Sci Fi it is pretty good. I have too much studying to do to watch too much. Unfortunately it has not affected cartoons because Drew can ALWAYS find something to watch.
New Mythbusters and Dirty Jobs abound on Discovery. I really don’t watch anything else (if you forget the hours of Spongebob, Caililu, Dora and Rugrats). So, no, it hasn’t affected me in the least.
Okay, I miss the “funny” Stephen Colbert.
I watch most of my TV on video anyway, so, no, I’m not too affected. I will miss 24 this year though, am looking forward to LOST starting soon and do wish for a new episode of House.
