Last weekend I went to Home Depot to get something, I don't even remember why I was there but I saw a great sale on marble tile ($1.99 sq.ft.) that grabbed my attention and felt a project coming on. I went home and told Mrs. Morhua that we really should go look at it but after we got there, we seriously looked at ceramic tile for the master bathroom because it's an idea that's been kicked around for a couple of years. I just happened to know the square footage off the top of my head so we selected our tile, bought some tools and went home.
I immediately cleared the room of rugs, took the toilet off the floor and gently placed it in the bathtub. Then we ripped out the old, yucky vinyl flooring and got busy prepping the floor which amounted to scraping up the glue-like crap that was holding the vinyl to the subfloor. Not bad, really just time consuming.
Since space was an issue, I had to complete the job myself even though Mrs. Morhua really wanted to contribute to more than just the demolition stage. I assured her that thigs would be different when we tile the kitchen, we both thought it would be a good idea to tackle a smaller job before taking on the considerably large space in the kitchen/dining room area. We are very happy with the results.

great job. Isn't it amazing how changing one thing makes such a big difference?
That looks nice. I'm hoping my first home project will be to tile some of the wall area in our kitchen. I've never done a project like that before...is it complicated?
Good job! It seems a lot of my xanga friends are remodeling something this summer. I would if I had time, but the bicycle and the fishin hole keep calling my name.
